Carbon expertise and clever system integration

Since BMC's early days in the bike world, fit and comfort have always been a high priority for the frames bearing their name. Even today, the Team Machine SLR01 and the Impec have geometries and technology geared as much toward the comfort of the cyclist as the performance of the frame. It's no surprise then that the Road Racer SL01 follows that same thinking. Geared towards the gran fondo and endurance cyclist, the SL01 has aerodynamic tube shapes, plenty of stiffness, and puts a premium on comfort. 

The Road Racer SL01 is made from a full carbon frame, and includes a full carbon tapered fork and carbon seatpost. The integration of these three components allows BMC to cater the ride characteristics of the entire frameset towards a specific purpose. The 1-1/8" - 1-1/4" tapered fork allows for a larger downtube junction, ensuring front end stiffness and steering precision. The iSC frame (integrated Skeleton Concept) seat stays positioned low on the seat tube, as well as less carbon near the top from the top tube. This allows the seatube and seatpost to have more vertical compliance, making a better ride overall. The seatube expands to the maximum with the bottom bracket shell will allow, guaranteeing stiffness and quick acceleration when it's needed. Internal cable routing ensures the classic BMC frame lines aren't obstructed by unsightly cables and help keep contaminants from degrading shifting performance. 

The Road Racer is ready for the long haul. With a full Ultegra 6700 group and DT Swiss RR1650 wheels which can be set up tubeless, BMC packs a ton of value into a bike that weighs a hair over 17lbs. Designed to minimize fatigue, the only thing that will slow you down on the Road Racer SL01 are those coffee shop stops during your double century.
